The Loreto Chapel

The Loreto Chapel, built in the 17th Century (1676), is just a few minutes’ walk from the castle at the highest point of Kapfenberg’s castle mountain.  The curtain walls of the first castle to have been built on this spot can still be seen all around the chapel.

The interior furnishings and the altar date back to the 1770s.

The chapel is particularly in demand for small-scale Christian celebrations: baptisms, weddings, anniversaries…

The Loreto Festival takes place every year on “Plum Blossom Sunday”, the fifth Sunday after Easter.
